According to Appleinsider, they have received reports that Apple has scheduled a media event in San Francisco for a new production announcement and unveiling. Could this be the mythical iTablet that Apple as guardedly kept a secret for so long?

Despite a mountain of rumors and whispers about the new itablet, it could be the most anticipated product unveiling ever as it has kept it a secret from the consumers. Rumors have been circulating about the product from Financial Times, and that Apple have been in serious negotiations with numerous publication companies to start digitizing their print media such as magazines for the iTunes/iTablet platform.

Hardware wise, they have been allegedly reported a 7 inch and 10 inch variant of the device and in recent days, Apple have been approaching app developers to prepare a demonstration of some of their products in ‘large screen devices’ coming this January.

Seems like everything is falling into place, or rather everything is in motion to launch the itablet. And with production and manufacturing expected to start ramping up in the months ahead, we could see the product officially launch in the middle of next year, and it could be just in time for the WWDC 10.

A lot is not known about the device specifications or even the final design of the tablet itself. But one thing is for sure:

The iTablet is real and could be coming out in 2010.

Meanwhile, Time.inc has prematurely release a video about the possibilities of a rich content for a digital magazine, in devices such as the iTablet.
