So a few months ago, I had a personal health issue. Because of that I had to take a break from strenuous activities such as running while I recuperate. Half a year on and along the way, I slowly ramped up my exercise regime and I am now back to running regularly, three times a week for the past month or so.
My timings have been improving, my stamina is back and my resting heart rate is getting lower. Apart from my usual runs, I do weight training using the weights that I have at home and I have been packing muscles again after a brief hiatus from exercise.
As I was given the all clear to start running again about a month back, I decided to start fresh. And by fresh I mean getting a new pair of running shoes. Not only that, I got myself new running tees and shorts from Adidas, New Balance and Puma. I really went all in to get fresh gear to kickstart my running routine. At the same time, I have been running at the gym on a treadmill, which is far more enjoyable that I was expecting at first, but more on that later.
Introducing the Nike Pegasus 38. This is by far the best pair of running shoes I have ever own. It has a good balance of bounciness without being too heavy. This shoe is fast. I have been using it for a month, and it is precisely because of this shoe, that I now look forward to my runs every other day. I just love how the shoes feel when I wear it for running. Meticulously engineered for runners.
This is the exact same colour scheme that I bought based on the images above. I really dig the colours. And because I use this pair of shoes exclusively for treadmill running, buying this pair mainly in white, isn’t a concern for me.
So, yeah, I have been going to the gym to clock my cardio exercises. In addition to the runs, I do rowing. I am making use of the school gym at the building where I work for LKC medicine students. Because I am staff member there, I get access to their gym as well. The gym is fairly decent, since I am only looking forward to using the treadmill, and the Concept 2 rowing machine, which is fantastic.

I am pleasantly surprised that the gym has a Concept 2 rowing machine. Nobody in the gym uses it. Probably because not many people understood the benefits of doing rowing exercises, or maybe they are not sure on the proper techniques in using this machine without injuring themselves. But nonetheless, I get to use the rowing machine, in addition to the treadmill and I get a killer cardio workout.
