I am a sci-fi buff. I had my fair share of sci-fi novels that I have read throughout the years, like Isaac Asimov’s Foundation Series, or Orson Scott Card’s Enders Game series. Recently, my all time favourite, Liu Caixin’s epic trilogy, Remembrance of Earth’s Past series and James S.A. Corey’s The Expanse novels.
But strangely, I have never started on the all-time classic Dune, written by Frank Herbert.
With the lock-down in place in Singapore, I have been spending more time reading. I have a number of Amazon e-books in my new Kindle that I bought to keep my company. In fact, I am way ahead of schedule, (7 books ahead of schedule to be precise) in 2020 in terms of the number of books I aim to read.
And Dune is one of them. I am in the mood to sink my teeth in a good, epic, and multi-book sci-fi series . Also recently, Vanity Fair release new pictures of the upcoming Dune film, slated to be released in December 2020. Strangely, although I don’t have a strong affinity to the story or the books yet (I just started, but things are looking great and I might enjoy the entire series), the production photos and character shots look amazing. The movie features star-studded cast that includes Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa.

This is going to be one epic movie. I am looking forward to it. But first, I need to finish reading at least the first book in the series.
