First impressions of my new Olympus OM-D EM5 Mark II camera

So what do I think of the new camera that I recently purchased a week ago? One word: Amazing. By far, the best SGD2000 I have ever spent on. This camera is really fun to use, and those long forgotten memories of photography sessions I’ve had with friends in school are finally resurfacing once again.

After one week of use, I can confidently say that this camera’s bells and whistles are performing just as advertised and then exceeding it by a wide margin. This is one fine gadget. Classy looking, with a hint of vintage design, don’t let its looks fool you. Underneath the hood, you are introduced to a myriad of features that you just don’t simply get in a standard DSLR. I mean, just holding it and you know this thing is a beast inside, waiting to be tamed and do your bidding. It’s a really fun camera to use and quite a looker as well. Just recently as I was doing some simple photoshoot in a nearby park, I noticed quite a few people were discreetly staring at the camera I was holding. I just can’t wait to take this little beast outdoors more often in the future and see just what kinds of shots I am able to achieve with this camera.

As a personal reminder, I need to improve on my photography skills by doing two things in the near future. One, I must always remember to take multiple shots of a subject instead of just shooting one. In other words, I must not be afraid to just snap away. You never know if out of then shots you took, there might be just one masterpiece within the collection of shots taken. Second, I need to be more proactive in using my camera in difficult or dull situations. I need to be more active to look at my surroundings, and try to find ‘moments’ that are worthing to taking a shot with my camera. In other words, I need to be a more visual person, paying closer attention to what I see and identify those moments to capture. I must not dismissed a dull environment as not being worthy of taking shots with my camera. Again, you never know if that photo you captured by contain something interesting. It’s all about the moments and it’s everywhere.
