Romeo X Juliet, the latest anime series released recently is based on William Shakespeare’s classic play, Romeo and Juliet. What is fascinating about this title however is the opening song. For the first time, i heard the Japanese Version of “You Raise Me Up” that you commonly hear is sung by Josh Groban and Westlife.
The Japanese version is sung by Lena Park, a Korean American R&B singe, who apparently happens to be able to to speak and sing Japanese. Her rendition of the song is really beautiful, though its obvious that the lyrics are different. I managed to extract 1 min 30 secs of the song, since the full song and single wont be available till the later half of June. The opening sequence can be viewed here. Lyrics to the songs can be viewed in Words of Songs website. Ive watched the first episode of the anime and im very impressed at the quality of the animation. Helmed by Gonzo, who did the CG effects, i must say its one of the highlights of this years spring anime releases.
