Asus Flow Z13 2025, almost one year in

This tablet has been my main work device and I have zero regrets buying it. This tablet notebook hybrid is a beast. Now, almost 12 months in, I have not encountered any problems with this device. Recently, I realised that the Asus Flow Z13 2025 edition is one of the earliest full-fledged consumer notebooks to adopt the Ryzen AI Max 395 chip. The chip was announced sometime in January 2025. The Asus Flow Z13 was launched in February 2025. I got my hands on this device in March 2025, a mere 2 months after the initial launch. It never occurred to me that I am an early adopt for mobile Strix Halo chips.

Fast forward to January 2026 and during CES, Asus announced a new edition of the Flow Z13, this time with a special collaboration with Kojima Productions, and it looks sick. I am extremely tempted to sidegrade my tablet for the new one with a brand new aesthetics.

At its core, the specs are exactly the same as the 2025 edition. There are rumors that the screen will be OLED instead of an IPS display. If that is true, then the price of the new Flow Z13 will be more expensive than the 2025 edition. But regardless, sidegrading is not a financially smart decision. The ROG Flow Z13 is not a cheap device. I got mine with a 32GB version at almost SGD$ 4000. I even bought this device on a 12-month instalment payment plan. The price has dropped a little bit, with a discount applied on the official Asus Singapore website, but I would not be surprised if the price of the special collab version will much more expensive, despite sporting the same specs as the 2025 edition.

The ROG Flow Z13 is by far the best tablet/notebook hybrid I have ever owned. The overall performance is fast, all in a sleek tablet design and after using it for close to a year, it has not encountered any technical problems so far. This is a solid device, great for both productivity and gaming.

Should I get the Kojima Productions special collab version when it comes out sometime in the first half of 2026? Rationally speaking no, but my god, the design is just so sick!
