Transformers in Hi-Res

Here are some of the hi-res pics that were released just recently for Transformers, one of the most anticipated action flick of the season (with a US$145 million dollar price tag to boot) . A Michael Bay film, who has directed a number of smash hits such as Armageddon, The Rock, Bad Boys I, Bad Boys II and Pearl Harbor. This looks to be one mean movie since the visual effects are done by Industrial Light and Magic, just look at these below:

The images above represent Autobots and they are Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Jazz from top to bottom. I really like Bumblebee, he has that sophisticated and complex design in him. Optimus Prime also have a really nice colour fusion of blue and red, with the mixing together to create the flaming designs. Overall im still kinda skeptical about the other designs though (not shown here) they look dull, and kinda messy. It doesnt have the definitive look of what Transformers should really look like. I hope the visual effects that make it up to it. Im sure fans of Transformers are not gonna like what they are seeing right now. I hope it wont be another flop like The Island.

The movie will be release in several countries first, before USA, which is 4th July 2007. More images can be found here and subsequently you can read more of Michael Bay in his blog.

However, im more interested in anticipating his next project, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which is slated for a 2008 release, currently in post production. Already some of the concept art have been released and it sure looks that it would be a faithful adaptation to the Prince of Persia franchise.

I’ve played all the recent games from Sands of Time to The Two Thrones and each subsequent title never fails to impress me. The character’s acrobatic skill improves each time and you get to learn more and more sophisticated moves as you go through the platforming areas, jumping from wall to wall, doing a wall run, doing a fast kill from the enemy’s back and so on. One of the best third person action adventure games i have ever played.
