IT WAS A SUPER FANTASTIC INCREADIBLE CHALET!

Hihi!, sorry for not updating this journal for a long time. I know i should have updated it the moment after i had my class chalet, but i guess that i really didnt have the time or have forgotten about it for soo long. Hope it never happens again. Well, its been days after the chalet and im trying really hard to recall much of it. Please bear with me for any mistakes that you might encounter throughout this entry. I write with great haste.

As you can see it was a blast during the class chalet which took place at Changi. Our chemistry teacher helped us to book a civil servants’ chalet and it was at really cheap rates, like 96 bucks for the whole duration. It was a 4 days 3 nights chalet and every night we had bbq. Most of my classmates were there but i was really disappointed to those who failed to at least attend the bbq for the night or a visit in the afternoon. Anyway those who attended the chalet couldnt agree more with me that we had a great time and a wonderful experience that none or rarely other people had experienced before. Ill elaborate later on.

As you know, we prepared for the chalet by buying the stuff we need like utensils, and food and stuff like that and we bought loads of it. Since the money that were contributed were quite little, we were fortunate enough to have the chalet come at a cheap rate, so that we can buy more food. We bought the food at Sembawang shopping center and the chicken that we bought were marinated by Rizal, which tasted really fantastic when we barbequed it. We really appreciate his mum’s work of art. Most of us met at Northpoint, OCBC, as you know i was the first to be there as well as Aaron, my good friend. We decided to bring our Xbox Console along and boy were my console and the games a hit during the chalet! We had 3 controllers and alot of multiplayer games. Most of my classmates wanted to have a try at a game of two with our classmates. 1 of the controller was brought by Aruvin, and we really appreciate him bringing it. The more the merrier! Anyway, the rest came and we started on our journey to the chalet. Some of my classmates, the chinese hitchhiked on ur teacher’s car to transport the food to the chalet in advance and prepare the bbq before we arriv. We took 969 to Tampines Interchange and changed to bus 29. It was a long journey but we managed to reach just in time. The bbq was almost ready and by the time we settled down, they were already cooking the first marinated chicken. We had great fun during the first night. By the way, we arrived there at about 7pm.

The name of the Chalet was Aloha Chalet, Chalet H, and it was bigger than what i expected, but there were still not enough beds for everyone to sleep on. Some were forced to sleep on sofas and on the floors. The chalet is a 2 storey building, with a bathroom on the first floor right next to the kitchen and 2 more bathrooms on the second floor. There were 4 bedrooms on the second floor, 2 on each side, left and right, leaving the bathrooms in the center, as you walk up the stairs. The kitchen is very big and comes with everthing, metal utensils, woks, pans, mugs, a fridge and a huge icebox, to keep frozen food and ice inside. I was generally impressed with the overall facilities. Even the lounge was quite big with ample chairs and sofas for big crowds to gather and watch TV. By the way, the tv is also quite big and it makes playing Xbox games all the merrier.

Soon the bbq was starting and we started cooking our food that we bought. The chicken were placed in a large pail, all marinated and ready to be cooked. We bought 10 packs of sausages a large packet of prawns and 5 packs of crab meat. The sausages, prawns and crab meat were all finished on the first day! Can you believe it?! It were supposed to last for 3 nights and it was all gone in an instant. I was starting to get worried by our rate of consumption and it also means that we were over budget in our food budget. No one really cared about our food supply and we continued barbequeing throughout the night and into the wee hours of the morning until the charcoal was not hot enough to cook any food. Our Chemistry teacher, Mr Neo was there on the first night but left soon after the bbq was finished. He could stay on becase the chalet took place during the weekdays and he has to teach in school the following day. Soon after everybody was all filled, Almost all of us gathered to the lounge area and started to play some xbox games. I actually decided NOT to bring my xbox because it was really troublesome to bring the console with all the controllers and powersupply with the games and the xbox weigh very heavy. But nevertheless, it was an effort paid off as the chalet had very little facilities and we had nothing to do other than play games when we were doing nothing. My classmates played games till about 4 to 5 am in the morning. I slept at around 4 and after that i dont know anything going on. If memory serves, i slept on the bed in on of the room on the right, but i awoken up and went to the sofas to continue my slumber. Before i knew it, it was already close to 10am the next morning.

The next few afternoons were pretty mundane. Some woke up play xbox while some woke up like hasyim and irene cooked for us breakfast, anything ranging from prata to eggs to instant noodles to sardines. At some point, Krishna cooked for us french toast and it tasted great, but oily. Some of us went for a little stroll around the chalet, while some played by the beach, which was pretty pathetic by my estimates. Food was already quite scarce and my prediction was correct: the food for the mornings and afternoons were depleting quite fast. The food for the bbw had to be bought the following afternoon, to prepare for the second bbq. Thus, most of us went to Changi Village to have our lunch at a hawker center. The distance from our chalet to the Changi Village was not very far , about 700m, estimate about 10 min walk. It was an enjoyable stroll as it was quite deserted. We went there ate our lunch and bought more sausages and crabmeat. The tidbits we bought on the first day when we arrived was all gone! We didnt bother to buy another more tidbits after that. Details aside, we went back and started the bbq for the second time. More of our classmated came like Hartinie and Hamizawati and our feature guest, Hafiz! Yes hafiz from our former 2E1 class. I was really surprised that he attended the chalet and when he came, it was of no surprise that his jokes are always 100% laughable! I missed those days. As you know, bbq was a success.

Afternoons were for relaxation but the nights are the best parts! To be continued…
